It comes with rubber mounts to reduce noise and vibrations to ensure a whisper quiet operation. Using only 40 watts of electricity while delivering 2900 cu. in/min (1.68 CFM). These air pumps are very energy efficient and cost effective to operate. The AP-40 is designed for outdoor applications and has a weatherproof housing, however, if you operate it during the winter, it is recommended that it be enclosed to protect it from the elements.
You can use rainwater to fill your pond, but keep in mind that it is very soft water. If you primarily use rainwater, be sure to check your pH regularly because it could become too low and cause serous problems.
