Without a doubt, lotus (Nelumbo sp.) are the most stunning plant in the pond and water garden. Some varieties produce leaves up to 24" in diameter and grow over 4' tall. Their blooms may open up to 12" across and are very fragrant. They are winter hardy as long as they are submerged below the ice.

Pond Skimmer Filters automatically skim leaves, pollen, and other debris from the surface of your pond. Larger debris is trapped in the skimmer net or basket, while the finer debris is usually caught in the filter pads. If you have large trees near your pond, a skimmer filter will greatly cut down on maintenance.
