Aquascape 300-Watt Pond De-Icer

Aquascape's stainless steel 300-watt Pond De-Icer is ideal for keeping a hole open the ice during cold winter months.

If you have goldfish or koi in your pond, it is imperative to maintain an opening in the ice to allow for necessary gas exchange. Pond De-icers ensure proper gas exchange by allowing oxygen into, and carbon dioxide out of the pond, helping keep fish alive during the winter. In extreme conditions or gardening zones above USDA zone 5 or lower, we recommend the de-icer be used in conjunction with an Aquascape pond aerator or solids handling pump such as an Aquaforce 1000 Solids Handling Pump.

Features:

  • Keeps a small hole in the ice during winter months
  • Built-in LED light indicates when heater is in use: Red=On, Blue=Off
  • Helps increase pond oxygen levels
  • Stainless steel construction prevents corrosion and cracking
  • Integrated thermostat prevents overheating
  • Energy efficient, using only 300 Watts
  • 22' cord length
  • 3 year warranty

Daily Pond Tip

Your pump should circulate the volume of your pond a minimum of once every 2 hours, ideally once every hour or more if you have a moderate to heavy fish load.

Daily Pond Tip

Great Blue Herons are typically solitary birds, so placing a lifelike heron decoy at the edge of your pond often deters them from visiting your pond and eating your fish. If you have a heron that lives near your pond, moving your decoy around from time helps to maintain illusion.
