Acclimating your new pond fish is the final step when introducing new koi or goldfish to your pond. First, find a reputable koi or goldfish dealer. Then make sure all the fish in the tank are active, swimming energetically and look healthy. Ask how long the fish have been on site, and if they have been treated for parasites or bacteria and if they have been properly quarantined. If you are satisfied with all the answers to your questions, pick the perfect fish or fishes for your pond. However, there is one final step to make sure you add (acclimate) your koi or goldfish safely to your pond.
