These 90 degree schedule 40 sweep elbows are used to change direction in a pipe run by 90 degrees. Sweep elbows reduce pressure and turbulence in the line compared to regular 90 degree elbows by allowing the water to gradually make the turn. The socket end should be glued to PVC pipe, flexible PVC pipe, or other fittings using PVC glue.
