Goldfish are about the hardiest fish for your pond. If you are new to keeping fish, standard bodied fish such as sarasa comets or shubunkins are the best choice because they are very resilient. They don’t grow too large yet they are very colourful and look great in any pond. That’s not to say goldfish aren’t for experienced pond keepers, or for the serious fish enthusiast. Many fish have long flowing fins that look spectacular especially once they grow larger. Some of the other varieties, such as Wakins. Ranchus, Lionhead or Panda Butterfly goldfish are very unique an sought after as well.

Sarasa comets are a standard body goldfish with vivid red and white colours. They can have a wide of beautiful patterns and often have very long fins that give them an especially graceful appearance in the pond.

Shubunkins are basically a calico pattern standard body goldfish. They can have a wide range of colours such as red, orange, black, grey blue, and white in beautiful patterns and often have very long fins that give them an especially graceful appearance in the pond.

Wakin Goldfish are unique because they seem to be a nice mix of standard goldfish and fantail goldfish. Wakins have a body shape similar to a comet or shubunkin which enables them to be faster swimmers than other fantail goldfish, making them more suitable to be placed with koi. But they also have the split tail fin like other fantail goldfish making them noticeable different from standard goldfish. Red and White Wakins have a varying vivid red and white pattern and make a great addition to the pond.

Butterfly tail goldfish are named so because of their unique tail fin. Tails of Butterfly Goldfish spread out much than a standard fantail goldfish when viewed from above making them excellent for viewing in ponds. Panda Butterfly goldfish have a very distinct and attractive pattern of white and black. They proportion of white to black markings can vary greatly giving each fish a unique look. Although Panda Butterfly are hard to find and tend to be a bit more expensive than other goldfish they are well worth it.

Ranchus (often called egg fish) are very interesting goldfish in that they have no dorsal fin. The lack of dorsal fin along with their metallic scales gives them a very shiny appearance in the pond. The red and white Ranchu make a bright addition to the pond.

Without a doubt, these are the most unique fish that we have. Our customer seem to either 'love them or hate them' (but most love them) because they are so interesting. They are named celestial eye because their eyes are aimed toward the sky. when you look at them from above they always seem to be looking right back at you, making them excellent for viewing in ponds. They are predominantly orange, but every so often some red and white fish are available. These really are a 'must have' for the goldfish enthusiast
