This
skimmer was installed on an existing pond. The pond was partially drained, the
hole excavated and the liner cut to match the opening in the skimmer box. The
optional bottom drain was also installed which draws fish waste and
detritus from the bottom of the pond
The pump sits in the back compartment and
draws water through the skimmer and bottom drain (difficult to see). The output
from the pump can be ran to your waterfall. Existing
stones are placed right up against the sides of the skimmer box to help hide it.
With a fiberglass 'stone look' lid in
place, the skimmer blends right in with the existing surroundings.
In a few hours, a Pond Sweep can be
installed and operational and your fish will thank you for it.
